This is a blog started by two ladies (Elizabeth and Lacey) who believe there is a positive in every day.

Each day we will come up with one good thing that happened to us, whether momentous or trivial. Rather than falling into a well of negativity, we hope to share the good.

I have the most amazing friends. I think about this a little every day and it makes me smile, but I hardly ever say anything. Today, however, I thought about it a little more, and I am absolutely stunned by how lucky I am to be surrounded by such incredible people.

Today my German teacher told me that she’s seen definite improvement, and that she wants me in her class next semester. I felt really gratified because I am absolutely the worst German speaker in that class, but I work hard to compensate. She also gave me two pieces of chocolate and told me to have a nice holiday.

I could be in a great place and miss great people; I could be with great people and miss a great place; I chose to enjoy the place for the place and the people for the people and know that soon they will all come together. And if they don’t, that’s okay too. There is so much that is so good and I don’t have to choose between what to enjoy.

Today I discovered just how huge my university’s Latin American library is. And how huge the Dominican section is!
